Let’s take a look at how online Hypnotherapy can help with stress and anxiety using Zoom
I am happy to be able to support global clients online for anxiety and stress using online video conferencing from the comfort of their own homes. I use the video conferencing platform Zoom Pro with business broadband. Zoom is free to download, stable, and also securely encrypted. It can be used on desktop computers, laptops, phones, and tablets and is available for both android and apple devices.
The benefits of online sessions
If you’re not used to chatting or working over video, it may seem strange at first, but all my clients have found that they get used to it pretty quickly, and a lot of them prefer it to therapy sessions in-person, as they don’t have to travel or take too much time out of their busy schedules. From experience, I know that the therapeutic benefits of online sessions are equal to those gained from working in person, and current research supports this.
What do you need for your online therapy session?
- A phone, laptop or home computer
- WIFI connection
- A quiet place where you can lie down such as a sofa or a bed (not needed for the initial consultation) with a blanket for comfort and warmth
- You may prefer to use headphones if you are in a shared house or for confidentiality reasons. Clients have found that headphones have helped to dampen background noise during the Hypnosis part of the session.
Accessing your online appointment
Each Hypnotherapy session lasts 55 minutes, called ‘The Counselling Hour’. It is a simple process: Once your online initial consultation has been confirmed after a chat by email or phone, I will then send you details on how to access your appointment on Zoom.
Depending on your browser, the first time you use Zoom, you may be prompted to download the Zoom software. This will only take a moment to complete by following the on-screen instructions. Once downloaded, you will be able to join your meeting. It might be wise to download Zoom in advance. For more information, please visit https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us

In hypnosis, you have the added benefit of using guided visualisation that will relax the mind and body and help ‘cement’ the goals that you have discussed in the talking therapy part of the session.
