Hypnotherapy & Coaching for Confidence, Anxiety, Stress & Performance Nerves
Hello, I’m Annette Sloly BA (Hons) DSFH HPD (CNHC, MNCH Reg), Senior Clinical Hypnotherapist and Performance Anxiety Coach.
I help clients navigate anxiety, stress, and self-doubt by developing practical strategies for greater awareness, resilience, and self-understanding. My work focuses on helping people understand and regulate their nervous system under pressure so that they can meet high-stakes moments with clarity and confidence.
My approach combines Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH), performance coaching, and counselling-informed techniques to help you explore practical, evidence-based ways to create meaningful change.
I work with adults in Bristol (Clifton & Queen Square), London, Bath, and worldwide online. With over 13 years of full-time experience and a 4.9 rating from more than 100 independent reviews, I combine neuroscience-informed hypnotherapy, solution-focused therapy, and self-compassion-grounded performance coaching to deliver personalised, focused, and results-oriented sessions.
‘I came to Annette with crippling anxiety. After just a few sessions, I felt calmer, more confident, and able to speak at work without panic.’ – J.S., Bristol.
I offer a complimentary 10-minute introductory call to help you ask questions, explore your goals, and determine how we might work together. Many clients are referred by their GP or recommended by past clients who value professional, evidence-based hypnotherapy and performance support.

Why Self-Compassion Matters
Many people are their own harshest critics, holding themselves to impossible standards or feeling they ‘should be coping better.’ I help you develop compassion for yourself so you can work to replace self-criticism with understanding, patience, and resilience. This mindset shift supports not only confidence and well-being, but also sustainable high performance in work, creativity, and life.
Specialist support for Adults
I’ve worked with clients across a wide range of sectors – from performing artists in music, theatre, TV, and conceptual arts to legal and healthcare professionals, tradespeople, account managers, educators, academics, writers, speakers, and other creatives.
I also support junior doctors and junior accountants preparing for exams, as well as legal professionals managing burnout, and individuals navigating visibility and leadership in high-stakes roles. Many of my clients go on to lead workshops, speak at conferences, or perform at international music, arts and literary festivals.
Evidence-Based Therapy for Real-Life Challenges
I support adults with generalised anxiety, low self-esteem, impostor feelings, and work-related stress or burnout. I also work with people navigating stress-related conditions such as IBS, shy bladder syndrome, and voice or nervous system-related challenges that affect confidence and performance.
Some clients come to prepare for medical procedures or recover from injuries, while others seek exam preparation support, including for professional qualifications such as the MLA and ACA. During the pandemic, I worked closely with frontline workers to build resilience and process ongoing stress.

I’m also the host of the upcoming podcast Soft Heart, Steel Nerves, exploring nerves, self-compassion, and courage with expert guests. The podcast brings together practical strategies, insights from neuroscience, and real-life experiences to help listeners navigate stress, self-doubt, and high-pressure situations.
Bristol Speakers Club – Confidence in Public Speaking
As co-founder of Bristol Speakers Club, I help people feel more confident, grounded, and present when speaking in public. Our approach is psychologically informed and body-based, drawing on breathwork, movement, and nervous system regulation. We focus not on perfection, but on authentic communication through practice and experimentation.
A Blended, Practical Approach
My approach integrates Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH), which draws on elements of Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), mindfulness, positive psychology, and hypnosis. This flexible, evidence-based model helps you clarify your goals, tap into your strengths, and take practical steps toward meaningful change, at your own pace.
If you’re considering hypnotherapy in person or online, you’re very welcome to get in touch – whether for an informal conversation, a consultation, or to explore whether this approach feels right for you.
Please Note
Confidentiality is at the heart of my practice. As a registered therapist, I’m bound by a professional code that protects client privacy, so I don’t share names or details of my work-even with consent. Trust and safety are essential foundations of everything I do. I work with a range of concerns related to anxiety, stress, and self-doubt. I do not provide support for conditions such as chronic pain, OCD, PTSD, weight management, or eating disorders. If you have other concerns, it’s best to check with your GP or a qualified specialist. See my FAQ for more information.
