Could Hypnotherapy for Weight loss work for you?

Losing weight is simple right? You cut down on your calorie intake and start exercising more. If only it were really that easy.

There are countless reasons that people struggle to lose weight, often bound up with childhood conditioning, the environment they live and work in and the conflicting messages they receive from the media. There’s so much weight loss advice out there that it can be easy to become confused.

Why don’t diets work?

Around 95% of people who lose weight on a diet will regain that weight over five years. As diets are by definition a food restriction programme, they can prompt a starve/binge cycle that exacerbates unhealthy attitudes to food. Some fashionable diets are often little more than starvation plans that lack the essential nutrients we need to maintain a healthy body. These are rarely sustainable in the long term.

Can Hypnotherapy for weight loss make a difference?

If you’ve tried diets, found that exercise only served to make you hungrier and are still finding it difficult to lose weight and keep it off, then hypnotherapy for weight management could make a difference. A study in the International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis discovered that women who had hypnobehavioural therapy lost weight, developed a healthier body image and changed their eating habits long term. A 2014 British study of the existing data also discovered that hypnosis may help to control the release of peptides that determine feelings of hunger.
